The gift, in full.

A promotion should build the brand it belongs to.

The source copy explains two hidden keys and a luxury stay. It delivers the mechanism, but underuses the connection between that stay and the wider Cowshed experience.

Cowshed’s own story begins with a spa at Babington House, extending the House’s hospitality into wellbeing; the products then brought that experience home. A stay for two can bring the gift back to those roots. That is a much richer brand story than a chance to win.

People should remember the feeling — and who gave it to them.

A prize can attract interest without deepening someone’s understanding of the brand. The creative task is to make this offer feel like Cowshed: care, retreat, sociability and a little pleasure carried into everyday life.

The proposed language connects the hamper, the stay and the person you would bring. It gives the audience a coherent emotional association to recognise again in the products, spa experience and future campaigns.

Make every invitation resonate with the same brand.

Lead with a shared Christmas escape, then explain the hidden-key mechanic. Extend that language through the product page, email, packaging and follow-up so the promotion feels like part of one recognisable Cowshed world.

The intended commercial effect: more relevant engagement, stronger brand-linked memory and, over time, greater preference and repeat choice. Consistent language can support loyalty when the actual product and experience fulfil the promise. Those are outcomes to test, not gains already demonstrated by this rewrite.

Kantar also links meaningful brand associations to attention, recall and predisposition to choose. The Secret of Meaningful Brands provides the broader rationale for the proposed connection between memory and preference.

The idea, made tangible.

2 HIDDEN KEYS. WILL YOU FIND ONE?

Cowshed's heritage is deeply rooted in bringing the experience of 5* luxury hotels to your home. So we thought we would mix it up.

We've hidden keys inside two of our advent calendars. Find a key and you unlock a free night at a 5* hotel for you and a guest. Scroll down for further details.

With this stay valued at over £700, we think it's worth trying your luck.

EA Proposal

Somewhere inside this year's Hamper, tucked among the balms and the bath oils, is a key. Not a metaphor — an actual key, waiting to be found in one of two advent calendars.

Cowshed has spent years bringing the feeling of a five-star stay into people's homes. This year, we decided to send someone to the stay itself. Find the key, and you unlock a luxury trip for two — a night away worth over £700, for you and whoever you choose to bring.

That's the part worth sitting with: it isn't just your gift. It's a gift you get to give someone else, too — the friend, the partner, the person you'd actually want beside you if the key turned out to be yours.

*Two keys are hidden within our limited-edition Hamper allocations. Once they are sold out, so is your chance to win.

From proposal to evidence.

Test the reference and proposed copy with the same offer, audience and media conditions. Measure qualified clicks and signups for engagement; unaided brand recall and correct brand attribution after a delay for memory; and repeat purchase over an appropriate follow-up period for loyalty. Keep promotion comprehension in the test. No such uplift has been measured for this proposal.

The source copy and offer details were supplied for this study and are not presented as a current promotion. Confirm dates, prize availability and full conditions before any real campaign.

The promotion becomes more valuable when people remember Cowshed’s world, not just the prize.
